Peter the Great loved English Stouts and requested them for the Russian Imperial courts. Unfortunately, the beer could not survive the long journey until 1796 when London brewery, Thrale's, increase the alcohol content and hopping rate in their dark Ale creating the Imperial Stout. We've brewed this Stout in honor of Peter and Thrale's contribution to this classic beer style.
